Our Story – Family-Built Since Day One

Summit Performance Transmissions was founded in 2004 by Robert Marlikowski in South Surrey, British Columbia. What started as a one-man, owner-operator shop has grown into a trusted 7-person team after moving to our current Abbotsford location over a decade ago.

Meet the Founder

Robert Marlikowski

Rob is the man behind this entire company, Rob has done every aspect of this work from the benchwork, to transmission builder, a technician, a trainer, sales and management, and now the owner of Summit Performance Transmissions. Rob has been in the automotive industry since he was a child, his father was a transmission builder, which allowed Rob to grow up learning the trade. In his teen years and twenties, Rob advanced from a benchworker, to a transmission builder, to management for various shops throughout the lower Mainland. In the 2000’s Rob began diving into the industry of Diesel performance, and continued to grow to the point of opening a home shop on his farm in whiterock. His 1 man operation did it all, and in 2013 it led him to open up our current shop in Abbotsford. Now while having a new shop, Rob still worked as a one man show who could do it all alone, but after business picked up throughout the years, in 2018 the shop began to fill with employees. The single man shop has now become filled with 7 knowledgeable employees, who have learned various aspects from Rob and take care of your vehicles just as he would. Besides at the shop, Rob is highly involved in snowmobiling in his free time, racing stock cars, and going out in his 4x4. Rob has grown Summit transmissions into what it is today, and can promise that the work he has devoted to this industry from childhood hasn't changed, but has become what you can call Summit.

Meet the Team

Kevin

Kevin works as one of our two transmission builders. Before beginning here in 2020, Kevin worked as a transmission builder for over 20 years at previous shops. Kevin is certified with his transmission certification, and takes great pride in doing his job with precision and care. When not at the shop building, Kevin takes his accomplice “Jasper” out in his 2023 Jeep Rubicon to run free!
Brent

Brent is our second transmission builder, he has been a part of our team since 2023. Brent has over 15 years of experience as builder and technician at previous shops, as well as over 18 years of experience with every and all parts that your transmission may need due to his time in parts and sales. Brent has his transmission ticket, but when he's not here building in the shop, Brent and “Chance” enjoy speeding around on his KTM300XC.
Joe

Joe is here to answer any questions you may have, Joe works up front as our sales manager. Joe has been a part of our team since 2022, but has over 30 years of experience helping others get the answers they need, and expanding his skill in the sales world. One conversation with Joe and you will know exactly what you need, but when he isn’t here helping our customers he's out racing around in his 2010 SRT8 Dodge Challenger.
Jake

Jake is our “Re&Re” technician, he's been a part of our team since 2025. Jake has 7 years working in mechanics, and now works as a part of our team to ensure quality service when removing and reinstalling your transmissions. When Jake is away from the shop you can probably find him out in the wild camping in his 2005 GMC Sierra.
Daisy

Daisy is possibly the most important member of our team (not to pick favorites)... Daisy ensures our shop stays safe and secure, as she spends her time working as our security. With her around you can rest assured that your vehicle is safe and protected, even though your lunch might not be. Daisy takes her role as security very seriously, and is always accepting payments in treats, and belly rubs!
